Project 2025, the far-right blueprint for a second Trump term, includes plans to remake America’s agriculture and nutrition policy at every turn. The plan explicitly calls to ignore climate risks, viewing climate policy as unrelated to agriculture. It would deregulate the USDA, loosening oversight over what goes into what we eat and drink– even baby formula. It would even kick hundreds of thousands off of food benefits, including many women and children, through work requirements, income restrictions, and defunding WIC. “They want more ******* born, but they don’t want to pay for formula or healthy baby food,” Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow tells Ali Velshi. “This thing is nuts.”
