PLAYER OF THE ROUND: North Melbourne pair Ash Riddell and Kate Shierlaw were simply awesome against Melbourne. Riddell had 21 disposals and two goals in a half, then finished with 32 touches, while Shierlaw kicked a career-high five goals. Adelaide **** Danielle Ponter ***** down her case with a wonderful performance to sink Hawthorn, kicking five goals to go with 22 disposals and five clearances.

WHAT’S NEXT: Midweek footy is well and truly here. Collingwood play West Coast on Tuesday, Brisbane host the Western Bulldogs on Wednesday, then Richmond take on Carlton on Thursday. St Kilda’s match with Hawthorn on Saturday and Sydney’s game against GWS on Sunday are tantalising clashes.
