**** of War Sitting on an Untapped Potential to Expand the Franchise Beyond Kratos

Atreus was the name of a brave Spartan warrior Kratos knew during his time in his homeland and thought it was a fitting name to give to his son. The retired **** stumbled unto Northern Scandinavia and met the Guardian whom he nearly beheaded and together bore a child. The gaming community was blown away by the revelation by the end of the 2018 soft-reboot and sequel that Kratos’ son is Loki, the Norse **** of Mischief.

The ambiguous ending of Ragnarok sees the young demi-**** on a quest he must do alone to restore his people. It would make sense for Santa Monica Studio to push this character as the new lead of the iconic franchise, especially for giving him a unique combat style in the last major installment.

The Gaming Community Is Starting to Enjoy the Scrappy Combat Style of Atreus

The gaming community is convinced Santa Monica Studio will be making another game centered around the Norse Saga despite how it already concluded during the events of Ragnarok. Perhaps the developers can treat this project as an epilogue with Atreus front and center without his father casting a massive shadow.

Fans anticipated the young **** would be playable to a degree in the sequel, in the first game, he was a companion for Kratos as he shoots different kinds of arrows to stun enemies and now he has grown to be a great warrior that could lead his solo adventure.

Initially, some players were taken aback and did not like playing as Atreus in **** of War Ragnarok, especially in sections like Ironwood ruining the pacing. The young **** has much to learn and is nothing like his father in combat, Kratos has brute force and years of training while Atreus mostly relies on his bow and different magical abilities. Some fans were not enthusiastic about him leading the franchise because of his combat; however, public opinion is slowly shifting.

The sections where players have to take control of the young **** became a chore since his attacks are not as strong and efficient as the raw power of Kratos. Players had to work hard to keep up with stronger enemies like the Wulvers and time their attacks accordingly. Atreus can charge up his ranged attacks for a devastating *****; however, hurting the fast-paced action of **** of War fans have grown accustomed to.

The game developers intentionally designed Atreus to feel scrappier than his father. His combat skills improved significantly since the first game and for good reason since Kratos is preparing him to survive without him and the inevitability of Ragnarok. Some players are starting to come around and become enthusiastic about his future.

The **** of War Is Responsible for Loki’s Efficiency in Combat

Despite his important role in the franchise, other fans would have liked to see other Norse deities star in solo adventures, and chief among them is Thor, the **** of Thunder. This version of the **** of Thunder is much different than most fans have seen and his relationships with the main characters would have been fascinating to explore and even branch out by himself.

It was inevitable for Atreus to step out of his father’s looming shadow and become independent; however, fans did not expect it so soon. Kratos wanted him to be ready and steadfast but would not let him go through a similar training experience of the Spartan customs because it would not end well.

Their opposing natures perfectly balance their relationship. Kratos became much more open in the sequel and Atreus is slowly coming to terms with his ascension to godhood and his newfound responsibilities to his people.

Santa Monica Studio could take the feedback as constructive criticism and make the necessary changes for the next installment. Hopefully, fans will fully accept Atreus as a leading man.
