Aussie shares hit 1-week high after US inflation report

The local share market has climbed to a one-week high, with nine sectors in the green despite a slightly higher-than-expected US inflation readout that diminished the chances of a supersized rate cut next week.

At noon AEST on Thursday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was up 53.6 points, or 0.67 per cent, to 8,041.2, while the broader All Ordinaries was up 61.2 points, or 0.75 per cent, to 8,256.4.
