He also urged TVO to withdraw its funding and for the Canada Media Fund to investigate “how and why their funding was used to support the film.” “The victims of the atrocities perpetrated by Russia, and Canadians who have so generously provided and backed Canada’s strong support of the people of Ukraine, deserve no less,” he said. A spokesperson for the Canada Media Fund told Global News it was aware of concerns surrounding the film but noted it was TVO’s decision to support the project with CMF funds.
