Queensland Police say man who threw scalding hot coffee on young baby in Stones Corner has fled country

Police have confirmed their worst fears about a man who allegedly threw coffee on a small child in Brisbane, saying he is a foreign national who has since left the country.

A Queensland Police spokesperson said officer shad issued an arrest warrant for the man after he allegedly threw hot coffee on a nine-month-old baby boy who was with his family at Hanlon Park.

“Through extensive investigations, detectives from Morningside child protection investigation unit have identified the man believed to be involved, a 33-year-old foreign national,” the spokesperson said.

The man has since left the county and Queensland Police are working with national and international partner agencies to progress this investigation further.”

The young boy was taken to hospital with serious burns after the incident but has since been released to recover at home with his family.
