In thinking about the Federal Government’s Nature Positive laws recently, I reflected on the passage of the Barrow Island Act and Gorgon State Agreement through the WA Parliament in 2003, which paved the way for the development of the Gorgon gas fields for LNG exports and domestic gas supply.

But, the developments were never assured, opposed by conservation groups, on the grounds of Barrow being an A-Class Nature Reserve, as well as the Opposition.
