The Dark Ages Promises to Fulfill

The production of id Software’s *****: The Dark Ages is in full swing and it seems like the studio is analyzing the gamers’ feedback on other games that released or will be releasing this year. The director of *****: The Dark Ages, Hugo Martin, has confirmed that they are focusing a lot on the campaign and making constant efforts to make sure players get the most out of the single-player experience.

The single-player experience is where Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II may feel underwhelming. As per early reviews, the third-person hack-n-slash video game has a thrilling campaign but some may find it very short. It’s clear that fans of this genre are looking for more solo content and that’s where *****: The Dark Ages will shine.

. Martin gave an analogy to explain that the campaign is much better and grounded,

If you were an F22 fighter jet in ***** Eternal, this time around we wanted you to feel like an Abrams tank – It means you’re more powerful and grounded. The combat system for new players – those who only got into ***** with the reboot – I think with The Dark Ages they are going to feel like this is a reimagined combat system. But for long-time fans of the series, people who played the original *****, you’ll see it’s really a return to form.

The studio aims to bring the original game’s elements into the upcoming game. The game is scheduled to be released for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S in 2025.

Gamers Want More Single-Player Content

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II‘s short campaign has disappointed some fans (Image via Saber Interactive)

Many gamers were relieved to hear what Martin had to say about *****: The Dark Ages‘ single-player. As the industry is changing, single-player gaming has transformed drastically and is often neglected.

Many studios nowadays focus more on co-op or multiplayer games. One such example is Saber Interactive‘s Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II, which is all set to release next week. The game will allow players to play the campaign alone or with friends.

The co-op campaign is indeed exciting but players are not satisfied with the length. It takes approximately 8-10 hours to finish the campaign in Space Marine 2 on standard difficulty settings and if the difficulty is lowered, it will take even less time. This setback has disappointed many fans as less single-player content takes away the replayability of a game.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has been criticized for its controversy but the initial reviews have been positive. The game is scheduled to be released for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X /S on 9th September 2024.
