The organising body behind Vietnam’s ‘VCS’ league has posted on social media regarding the sudden ****** of Nguyen ‘EGO’ Khanh Hoa. On September 5, the two-time champion ***** after suffering a heart ******* at just 21 years of age. The former MVP-grade player represented Team Flash, CERBERUS, and Saigon Buffalo during his time in the League of Legends esports scene.

Rising Star

Per EGO’s profile, the talented player started competing when he was just 17 years old, making a name for himself in Vietnam as a prodigy of sorts. In his first competitive split, EGO secured an MVP award and won a title in the VCS – the Vietnam Championship Series. He would go on to win again the following year, in 2021.

Despite a successful regional streak, EGO announced his retirement from competing in 2023, just four years after he debuted. It wasn’t made clear why he was retiring so early, and the decision came before he’d landed the chance to compete on an international stage.

This former Jungler will be remembered for his stellar in-game talents, which earned him a Rookie of the Split award in 2020. Our condolences go out to his friends and family at this difficult time.
