Images of Blizzard’s Cancelled Survival Game ‘Odyssey’ ***** Online

In 2023, discussions surfaced regarding a developing survival game that Blizzard was working on. It was previously claimed that the game would resemble Everwild, took inspiration from Fable Legends, and was being compiled with the concept of it being a ‘fairytale survival game’.

Fast forward to January 2024, and Odyssey had been cancelled, with it being claimed that the studio was facing ‘insurmountable issues’ with the game engine that they’d been developing since 2017.

Now, images of the beleaguered, forgotten project have reportedly surfaced online.

, a Russian social media site, a series of images were uploaded by a user who claimed they were of Project Odyssey, Blizzard’s ******* survival game.

In the shots, we see a multiplayer-based game that’s easily recognisable as a ‘generic’ survival title. The player has a series of tools and weapons in their possession, they’re able to manage an inventory packed with resources and other items, and on a ‘status’ screen, we see elements like warmth, buffs and debuffs, food, and sleep levels.

It looks as though Project Odyssey would have been highly customisable, starting with the base character model and then working up through clothing, loadout, and skill points and levels. It would have had a ‘cartoony’ aesthetic not too dissimilar to Palworld, and judging from the UI, players would have been able to use a series of powers and abilities.

In the screenshots, we can also see what looks like a ‘killfeed’, suggesting that Odyssey would have had PvP elements. In one image, a player has ***** after being shot by another user, and they’re given the option to choose their respawn point, one of which is as far as ‘822 steps away’, suggesting that the map was a fair size.

They also lost their carried gear and some durability of equipped gear when they passed, which is another typical survival-MMO mechanic.
