Former Milton Hershey School House Parent accused of ********* abusing minor

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A former House Parent for Milton Hershey School is accused of ********* abusing an underage girl multiple times, according to charging documents.

Efrain Massanet-Murray, 38, of Middletown, is accused of assaulting the child since last summer by allegedly touching her *********, making inappropriate comments, and giving her alcohol, Derry Township Police said in the charges filed.

Massanet-Murray was fired as a House Parent amid the school learning of the investigation involving allegations made by a non Milton Hershey School student, according to the school.

“We hold all employees to the highest standards,” said the Milton Hershey School. “Our houseparent applicants undergo a rigorous vetting process, with protocols in place to govern background checks and numerous direct and third-party reviews. We work diligently to be at the forefront of best and evolving practices in child safety, and we will remain vigilant in maintaining this unwavering focus.”

A report was received by police in May regarding suspected child ******, where Massanet-Murray allegedly touched her while they were watching a movie, according to a ********* complaint.

The victim also described being given alcohol and disclosed multiple instances where Massanet-Murray touched them inappropriately, offered money for ******* favors, or discussed inappropriate topics.

Massanet-Murray faces numerous charges that include felony counts of aggravated indecent ********, unlawful contact with a minor, and *********** of minors. He also faces multiple related misdemeanor charges.

Massanet-Murray is out on unsecured bail set at $10,000 and awaits a preliminary hearing scheduled for Sept. 10.
