Oz Claims Gotham City In The Penguin’s New Promo

Among Batman villains, The Penguin isn’t necessarily the most dangerous or the strongest adversary that the Dark Knight has ever faced. But Oswald “Oz” Cobblepott should never be underestimated, because his intellect and his ruthless streak have taken him pretty far in the ********* underworld. And in the latest promo for HBO’s The Penguin, Oz is ready to declare himself the new Kingpin of Gotham City.

Colin Farrell is reprising his role from The Batman, but for this series, Oswald’s last name has been shortened to Cobb. The show takes place roughly a week after the film, which left Carmine Falcone ***** and the ********* underworld in disarray. That gives Oz the perfect opportunity to fill the power vacuum left behind by his late boss.

Naturally, some of the other ********** in town aren’t going to simply accept Oz’s accession to the top. However, his greatest rival may be Carmine’s daughter, Sofia Falcone (Cristin Milioti), a mentally ********** woman who wants to take her father’s crown for herself. Sofia presents herself to Oz as an ally in this teaser, but that alliance isn’t likely to last very long.

Robert Pattinson’s Batman will not be making an appearance on this show, but the series will feature Clancy Brown as mob boss Salvatore Maroni, Michael Kelly as Johnny Vitti, Deirdre O’Connell as Francis Cobb, Michael Zegen as Alberto Falcone, and Rhenzy Feliz as Victor Aguilar, a teen who becomes Oz’s driver and the closest thing he has to a friend.

The Penguin will premiere on HBO and Max on September 19.
