Kalgoorlie detectives investigate reports man tried to grab girl off scooter on way to school

Kalgoorlie detectives are investigating reports a man tried to grab a girl off her scooter as she rode to school on Thursday morning.

In a text message sent to parents on Thursday afternoon, St Mary’s Primary School principal Elizabeth Browner said a student from another school was riding a scooter to school when a man tried to grab her.

Police confirmed they were investigating reports of a man approaching a young girl between 8am and 8.10am and behaving in a “suspicious manner” on Wilson Street near Brookman Street.

Inquiries are being made and detectives are seeking the public’s assistance for information.

The man is described as being dark-skinned and wearing a ******-********* top and cap.
