electric sibling than not, namely in the design of its ‘Thor’s Hammer’ ***********, air intakes, and its creased bonnet.

There are however some big differences between the two, with the XC90 retaining its vertical tail lights (albeit with new graphics) rather than the electric model’s C-clamp style units.

A number of chrome elements, as well as non-flush door handles, also set the XC90 apart from the EX90.

Inside, the XC90’s cabin has arguably benefited the most from the refresh, moving up from a 9.0-inch infotainment touchscreen to an 11.2-inch display with 21 per cent higher pixel density for a higher resolution.

built-in.

The entire dashboard has been redesigned to incorporate sharper air vents, while the steering wheel and digital instrument cluster appear to remain largely unchanged.

Compared to the existing XC90, there’s an extra centre console storage space, another cupholder and a relocated wireless phone charger, as well as a redesigned gear selector.

Additional sound insulation has been fitted to reduce road noise.

It appears there have been no changes under the bonnet, with the XC90’s current range of engines remaining.

In Australia, the lineup consists of the B5, B6 and T8, all of which remain in the updated model.

Details and outputs of these engines are available below.

Volvo claims it’s improved the XC90’s suspension, with each damper “now able to adapt mechanically to current road conditions to optimise both comfort and stability – for a more confident and relaxed driving experience.”

Optional air suspension brings the ability to raise the XC90 by up to 40mm or lower it by 20mm.
