With the introduction of a whole bunch of new movement mechanics in COD ****** Ops 6, you’re going to want to change your controller settings. Being fast on the joysticks is the difference between being just another statistic or top of the leaderboard.

The best ****** Ops 6 controller settings

Before you get into setting out your controllers, aim assist, and button mapping in Call of Duty BO6, I suggest you fine-tune your graphics, too. This will ensure you’re getting the maximum performance, especially if you’re playing on a PC.

Controller

• Button Layout – Personal Preference. Tactical works for me because I like the ability to slide cancel with the right stick and melee with the back buttons. However, go for what you’re used to.
• Button Mapping – Again, this is always down to personal preference. These things become muscle memory.
• Horizontal Sensitivity – 8
• Vertical Sensitivity – 7
• Simplified Controls – Off
• Low Motor Strain – Off
• Bumper Ping – Off
• Swap Back Buttons – Off
• Controller Vibration – Off
• Trigger Effect – Off

Deadzone inputs

These settings are particularly important when it comes to controller aim assist in ****** Ops 6. The new movements in Call of Duty are fast and will require those deadzones to be on point. However, all controllers are different, so it is important to test how they work. This is a simple process.

• Set both Left and Right stick Min to 0.
• Turn on the Deadzone test and see what % each stick displays without touching the controller.
• Adjust your minimums until the test reads 0% on both, with just a tiny amount of drift on the left stick.
• However, have your maximum on the left stick around 60 and 99 on the right.
• Left and Right trigger at 0.

These settings will ensure you have a really quick, really sticky aim assist. It’s a little broken in favor of controllers at the moment, so make the most of it.

Of course, many of these controller settings in Call of Duty ****** Ops 6 are my personal preference. I recommend importing your old settings from Moder Warfare 3 and tweaking things slightly. If you’re totally new to controllers or swapping from mouse and keyboard is a great way to get accustomed to aim assist and controller.
