Urgent work needed to stem ‘hidden epidemic’ of wounds

A leading surgeon is urging free treatment for patients with chronic wounds to be extended in order to prevent a “hidden epidemic”.

In an address to the National Press Club on Tuesday, burns specialist Fiona Wood calls for a nationwide plan to solve the issue of chronic wounds, which affect 450,000 people annually.
