Many may not agree with this but indie games of today are doing better than those of several born out of AAA gaming studios. Some of them even managed to land the name among the greatest video games of all time.

There’s still disagreement among the gaming enthusiasts and experts regarding the onset of their development. However, some believe it began prior to the home computer revolution. Several of them are easily available to us today on the internet, and here are some of the best of them to play.

A man’s got to pass time while waiting; that’s the essence of the game. As the character is waiting for a meeting in the fictional Barnsworth town, he goes outside to explore the region while solving problems of townspeople for to pass the time.

The cat then finds a robotic companion and both explore a city devoid of humans. An interesting story then follows. Maybe that’s why Annapurna Animation decided to adapt the game into a feature film

The game’s creator is so protective of its IP that he doesn’t have any real trust in many when it comes to the game’s potential movie adaptation.

4. Cocoon

Development of this game began following the departure of the game’s director, Jeppe Carlsen, from PlayDead. Use assumes the role of an insectoid like creature wandering a wasteland.

3. Palword

Developers wanted to explore procedural narrative storytelling but couldn’t owing to the gameplay’s nature.

The character in the game is a nameless boy who is on the lookout for his lost sister. Throughout his search, he comes across a variety of traps, creatures, and puzzles, which, if the character is unable to cross, end up in something that would send a user in an unnerving state.

Dino Patti, PlayDead co-founder, and Jeppe Carlson initially funded the video game personally. Moreover, they didn’t want any major publishers to takeaway the creative freedom, and that was indeed one fruitful decision.
