Department of Communities program fails to divert Aboriginal kids from out of home care

The Auditor General has delivered a “damning” report after reviewing the Department of Communities’ early intervention strategy, finding it has ******* to reduce the number of Aboriginal children in state care.

In 2016, the then Department of Child Protection and Family Support established the EIFS Strategy which aimed to divert families from child protection by providing early intervention and support.
