Hyundai Genesis recalled for ***** risk

Hyundai Australia is recalling its Genesis luxury sedan as a manufacturing defect could lead to an engine *****.

“Due to a manufacturing defect, the sealing of the starter motor may be insufficient allowing moisture to enter into the unit,” the company says in its recall notice.

“If this occurs, it could cause a short circuit leading to a vehicle engine compartment ***** while parked or driving.

“A vehicle ***** could increase the risk of injury or ****** to vehicle occupants, other road users, bystanders and/or damage to property.”

Hyundai says affected vehicles should be parked in an open space and away from flammable materials and structures until the starter motor can be replaced.

That means owners shouldn’t park their vehicles in a garage.

If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to schedule an appointment with a Hyundai dealership to have the starter motor replaced, free of charge.
