Cost-of-living forces West Aussies to cut back on food, new polling shows

More than half of West Australians have substantially cut back on food in the last year while almost 40 per cent couldn’t cover the cost of a surprise $500 bill without selling something or paying with a credit card.

As cost-of-living primes as the decisive factor for voters ahead of looming State and Federal elections, polling commissioned by the Financial Counsellors Association of WA found the issue was overwhelmingly the most important facing the State.
