My Kitchen Rules is back! And it’s return is shaping up to be ******* and better than ever, with two Western *********** teams hoping to cook up a storm.

The Seven Network has announced the return of the long-running reality series and “loved-up couple” Hannah Campbell and Lawrence Murphy, and friends Mike della Maddalena and Pete Bellini, will hope to be crowned the series 14 winners.

It’s not just the addition of a second West Aussie team that is upping the ante — according to veteran judge Manu Feildel, this year’s show will feature a dish he claims is “the best I have ever had on MKR in 14 years”.

Campbell and Murphy got to sample the food in question, which earned its competitors the highest score in MKR’s history.

“For me, the highlight was witnessing a record-breaking MKR score up close,” says Murphy, a self-described fitness fanatic competing alongside his partner, ex-Big Brother 2020 contestant Hannah.

“It was one of those jaw-dropping moments where you can feel the energy in the room shift, and being there to see it happen was unforgettable. . . It’s the kind of thing you dream about when you think of culinary competitions.”

The couple, who have been together for 18 months and who say they will use any prize money to pay for a wedding and buy a house together, say they enjoyed the experience of filming the reality competition, claiming they formed strong bonds with many of the other contestants, who also opened their homes to cook for the chance to win $100,000 and be crowned MKR champion.

But it wasn’t all smooth sailing: “Like any experience where you bring different personalities together, there were a couple of people we didn’t quite click with. You’ll have to watch and work out who it is for yourselves,” Lawrence said.

Expect sparks to fly.

MKR begins on September 9 at 7.30pm on Seven and 7Plus.
