Your Sunday Travel team | The West ***********

We started Sunday Travel during the pandemic, and its settled into a rhythm, as a sibling to Saturday Travel in The West ***********, and produced by the same team.

We are not AI. We are not amateurs posting on social media. We’re real people with a world of experience, bringing a weekly mix of inspiration and information; practical and poetic.

Our core team is Leyanne Baillie, Penny Thomas and Mogens Johansen — all perceptive and skilled, smooth writers.

Michael Ferrante is our award-winning cruising writer. Megan French is an STM fashion writer and stylist, but joins us regularly, bringing a new twist to our team.

So does Olga de Moeller, our senior motoring writer for West Wheels in The West ***********, but part of our extended team, and a skilled food and travel writer.

We’re all friends, too, and working together is a pleasure. We hope that filters through these pages.

+ Sunday Travel is the most read section of The Sunday Times. To put that into perspective, Sport comes behind it.

+ Then there’s The Pod Well Travelled, which Penny hosts and produces, with Megan alongside. Subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. There are editions on packing, technology, and lots of destinations.

+ We’re also telling stories in other ways, all the time. There’s our free Jackets of the World exhibition on September 14 and 15. The Round Europe Dinner (words, music, food, wine) is on November 14. Mogens and I, and wildflower expert and friend Grady Brand, have just been out on three A Nice Day Out With Wildflowers coach days. There will be more PhotoWalks with Phones.
