Coroner has been called to scene. One person ***** and two were injured in a serious collision on Interstate 75 southbound at the 102 mile marker in Lexington Saturday afternoon. The Lexington Police Department received a call about a reckless driver heading south on I-75 at about 4:15 p.m., said Lt. Matt Merker. The ******, which involved three passenger vehicles, was reported soon after. One person was found ***** inside a vehicle, while two people were taken to a hospital. One of them has life-threatening injuries, and the other has injuries that are not life-threatening, Merker said. All southbound lanes of I-75 remained shut down as of 6:30 p.m., but Merker said he expected the road to be at least partially reopened soon. Southbound traffic was being diverted off the interstate and onto Athens-Boonesborough Road at Exit 104, Merker said. He said northbound lanes were unaffected.
