You’ll be surprised to know, but September 23 will mark the first anniversary of the legendary Mortal Kombat! It’s been almost a whole year of the game, bringing us the most ******* fights and flash fatalities. The title offers some of the most satisfying 1v1 fighting experience, and that largely can be attributed to its character roster.

Even though NetherRealm has done an incredible job bringing a range of iconic characters from the previous entries into Mortal Kombat 1, there are still some fighters who are missing. One of these is Skarlet, who still hasn’t been added to the game. However, fans have taken it upon themselves and brought the character to the fighting game!

Skarlet Mortal Kombat 1 Debut Must Happen Soon

If you’re unaware, Skarlet is one of the best blood mages who first appeared as a downloadable character way back in Mortal Kombat (2011). She is said to be a creation of Shao Kahn, made up of the blood of various warriors. This gives her the power to control blood. Her combat style is quite brutal and efficient, being able to use her blood magic to heal and output damage.

There’s no doubt her long-range capabilities, along with her blood magic and interesting storyline, make her a perfect candidate to be added to Mortal Kombat 1. However, for some odd reason, NetherRealm still hasn’t added her to the game’s roster of fighters.

Unfortunately, this isn’t a mod! It’s one of the concept arts for Skarlet in Mortal Kombat 1 by a fan of the franchise. This art truly elevates her from a mere fighter to a menacing sorceress of blood. The red palette and her sleek ninja outfit further emphasize her mystique and allure.

Let’s hope that with the upcoming updates for Mortal Kombat 1, NetherRealm Studios will listen to player feedback and bring Skarlet into the game as a fighter. Such a memorable and standout character in the franchise definitely deserves a spot on the roster!

Mortal Kombat 1 Skarlet Needs to Be a Reality Soon

As a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Games, NetherRealm Studios is a Chicago-based developer that’s famous for its Mortal Kombat franchise. The developers’ latest game, Mortal Kombat 1, debuted last year, providing fans of the franchise with a fresh story set in the new timeline.

Although NetherRealm Studios still hasn’t publicly announced any upcoming projects, recently spotted job listings suggest that the company is already working on something new.

According to Warner Bros. Games job listings, NetherRealm is currently searching for a Senior Cinematics Animator who could be tasked, among other things, with producing high-quality cinematic animations for a story mode campaign.

The developer also wants to get an Associate Producer onboard to handle day-to-day management of an upcoming unnamed AAA game that’s still being developed.

NetherRealm’s unnamed AAA project could be a sequel to Mortal Kombat 1 or another brand-new entry in the franchise. However, it should be kept in mind that the developer previously stated that it hoped to extend support for the franchise’s latest entry for years.

There’s also a chance that the secret AAA project could be a new IP or part of some other NetherRealm franchise.
