They won’t hear a word against it. And I’m pretty sure those who take the next step, into a newly announced Everest Tremor, will take that to the next level . . . just as the vehicle itself does. It has upgraded suspension and tyres, with production expected to start in November 2024. While the Tremor still has the 3500kg maximum braked towing capacity, it will have a 3-litre turbo diesel V6 engine, and also gains off-road tricks like “rock crawl drive” mode. A Ford spokesperson confirms: “It is exclusively powered by the powerful six-cylinder engine delivering 184kW of power and 600Nm of torque.” The Tremor also gets enhanced suspension and tyres. Bilstein position-sensitive dampers, new springs and General Grabber AT3 all-terrain tyres amount to 26mm of additional ground clearance compared with the standard Everest. And when it comes to looks, the Tremor has some rugged tweaks, including a honeycomb grille design with auxiliary LED lamps, steel bash plate, heavy-duty side steps, and Tremor badging. It also has Tremor-embossed leather-accented seats, ebony-********* interior accents, and all-weather floor mats. With its 3500kg maximum braked towing capacity, the Everest Tremor will tow boats, trailers and caravans. Ambrose Henderson, marketing director of Ford Australia, tells us: “The Everest Tremor answers the call from passionate adventurers who demand even more capability and ruggedness from their SUVs. “With its unique combination of off-road effectiveness, towing capacity, and premium features, the Everest Tremor is ready to tackle any adventure, on or off Australia’s various terrains.” The 2025.25MY Everest Tremor has a manufacturer’s list price of $76,590 (including GST). Drivers can further personalise their vehicle with factory-fit options, including the Rough Terrain Pack featuring ARB accessories ($3500), a Touring Pack ($2500), a Premium Seat Pack ($1100), and a Towing Pack ($1900). It will be available in an exclusive Command Grey colour. Premium paint is an extra $700.
