COD Next 2024 Has Revealed That Area 99 Is the New Warzone Resurgence Map

Recently, Activision held a special event called CoD Next, showcasing the reveal of ****** Ops 6 multiplayer, Zombies, and much more! The four-hour livestream also featured interviews with developers and various other exciting things for gamers.

However, one of the most standing out reveals came for Warzone. The game is getting a brand new Resurgence map in Season One called Area 99, described as the birthplace of the popular Nuketown map, which was previously featured in previous ****** Ops games.

Warzone is Getting a Brand New Map Called Area 99

Warzone is all set to receive major changes alongside the debut of ****** Ops 6, as both games will support the franchise’s new omnidirectional movement system.

The COD Next event confirmed that various features from the game will be stripped, and old ones, such as the Wildcard system, will be returning. Gamers can look forward to a variety of modes and maps with the upcoming Season 1.

Area 99 is a brand-new Warzone Resurgence map that’s directly inspired by the unrelenting gameplay of the fan-loved Nuketown multiplayer map. As the birthplace of Nuketown, it will feature lore about its origin alongside several points of interest.

The developers state that Area 99 celebrates retrofuturism art style, so gamers will come across a lot of designs and architectural aspects inspired by the aesthetics of classic media and diners of the 1950s. The map will also have an official mascot called “Archie Atom,” who can be spotted on signs and billboards all across the map.

Area 99’s scale is quite similar to the Rebirth Island map, with the developers stating it’s a compact and focused location. As a result, gamers will get into gunfights instantly after dropping in.

This new map, combined with the upcoming omnidirectional movement system, will certainly elevate the experience for everyone. However, many in the community believe that Treyarch’s design approach for the brand-new map has made it quite dull.

With the last couple of entries in the franchise, gamers have shared their displeasure with the game maps feeling dull as they simply lack vibrant colors, which we’re used to seeing in other major FPS games.

Currently, there’s still no release date for the battle royale’s Season One. So, we can keep our fingers crossed. We hope the developers take the player feedback into consideration and make necessary tweaks before releasing the map.

****** Ops 6 is all set to overhaul the franchise’s movement system with the introduction of omnidirectional movement. What’s even better is the fact that this system will carry forward Warzone with the next Seasonal update.

So, what exactly is omnidirectional movement? Well, it’s a brand-new system that will allow gamers to slide, run, and ***** in any direction they wish to. This advanced system can allow gamers to chain together movements and further play their life.

The system will debut alongside revamped HUD customization for ****** Ops 6. Some of the HUD options will include disabling it completely, relocating the mini-map, centering the various HUD elements, and creating a layout designed for streaming.

The changes Treyarch is bringing to the classic Call of Duty gameplay with ****** Ops 6, coupled with the return of various fan-favorite features, will redefine the series.

With that said, are you excited about the Area 99 map? If so, let us know in the comments.
