WAFL 2024: Peel Thunder to be without forward Patrick Voss for qualifying final against Swan Districts

Peel Thunder will be without one of their biggest weapons for the qualifying final against Swan Districts, with a calf complaint to keep Fremantle forward Patrick Voss from playing in Mandurah on Saturday.

Voss has kicked 23 goals in eight games for the Thunder in between several stints in the Dockers’ side, including the past two games at the AFL level.

It’s a significant ***** for the Thunder who will also be without fellow forward Sebit Kuek as well as Dockers James Aish and Oscar McDonald after they didn’t qualify for WAFL finals.

Max Knobel has come out of the side because he also hasn’t qualified and is only able to play if fellow Fremantle-listed ruckman Liam Reidy doesn’t.

First-round draft prospect Bo Allan will miss because a quad injury, while Ethan Stanley is omitted and joins Jack Delean as the two qualified Dockers to miss out on selection.

Reidy and hard-running wingman Nathan O’Driscoll return from AFL duties, while Sandover Medal fancy Will Brodie is fit after missing last weekend’s loss to East Perth with a calf injury.

Swans have made two changes, with high-flying forward Tom Edwards grounded because of a concussion while Brenton Hilton has been dropped.

Co-captain Brandon Erceg has been named, while utility Jesse Glass-McCasker returns and will likely partner Nathan Blakely in the ruck.
