Fans Are Concerned About the Precedent Being Set By Titles Like Capcom Vs SNK 2 Skipping Xbox Consoles

In the latest Nintendo Direct, Capcom swung in to keep their fighting game win streak rolling with the sunrise announcement of Capcom Fighting Collection 2. This gaming compilation stands as a sister product to the Marvel vs. Capcom Collection.

This particular compilation will be loaded with cult classics such as Capcom vs SNK: Millennium ****** 2000 Pro, Capcom vs SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2011, and Fighting Evolution. Unfortunately, Xbox gamers won’t be able to experience any of these retro titles as they’re not coming to the console.

Gamers Are Frustated With Capcom vs SNK Skipping Xbox

When Capcom vs SNK 1 and 2 was announced to be included with the Capcom Fighting Collection 2 on Tuesday, it was met with overwhelming praise from gamers around the globe. The announcement came with the reveal that the games and the entirety of the collection would be coming to PS4, Switch, and Steam.

However, Xbox is missing out as Capcom has no plans to release the game on the

console. Following the announcement, many fans took to social media platforms to complain about the matter.

Once again, Xbox console players are getting the short end of the stick. Let’s not forget that even the latest smash-hit, ****** Myth Wukong, didn’t arrive on Xbox, and developers have remained silent on its release.

It has now become a common practice for a number of new games to skip a debut on Xbox for some reason. Fans have had enough and believe that if

doesn’t deal with this issue, it will be the end of the console.

Many of the classics in this collection were available for previous-generation Xbox consoles but can’t be ported over to the current-generation ones.

It’s truly a crushing ***** for the fans of the fighting games who have been hoping to see more on Xbox. However, there looks to be no end to this depressing trend unless Xbox can sort this mess out.

The game is scheduled to be released in 2025. Let’s hope that one day, we see the fighting collection eventually arrive on Xbox consoles.

Why is Capcom Fighting Collection 2 Skipping Xbox?

With another classic fighting game collection skipping Xbox consoles altogether, players are wondering what the possible reason behind this decision could be. After all, modern-day Xbox consoles have the hardware capabilities to support such games.

Many users have reported that modern Xbox consoles don’t support MT Framework, which is Capcom‘s old game engine. The engine powered many classics in the past, such as Lost Planet, Monster Hunter Stories, and a bunch of Resident Evil Games.

While the company has managed to shift most of its development to RE Engine, MT Framework is still essential to run older games in the fighting collection, which was initially crafted on this platform. The engine was created to primarily support multi-threading on Xbox 360 and PS3, but the modern-day Xbox consoles don’t support this feature.

Currently, the company might not have plans to port the rework of the MT Framework to support Xbox consoles. So, if you’re looking to play these games and you’re on Xbox, you almost need to experience it on PS4, PC, or Switch.
