Still, Mr Sealey argues the current Koleos – which dates back to 2016 – has something to offer in today’s market.

“The existing car is a good, honest vehicle. It’s priced pretty well in the segment, and we still think there’s more legs in that particularly given we’re in a value market today – not a booming market.”

Pricing starts from $37,500 before on-road costs for the entry-level Koleos Life 4×2, and tops out at $48,500 plus on-roads for the flagship Intens 4×4.

Unlike the wider Renault lineup in Australia, which is backed by a five-year warranty, the Koleos range is subject to a seven-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty as of July 1, 2024.

Despite its advancing age, the Renault Koleos is the brand’s best-selling passenger vehicle in Australia.

So far in 2024 (to July 31), a total of 694 new units have been registered year to date, ahead of the smaller Arkana (275 units) and Captur (141 units). However, the Koleos is down a significant 68.8 per cent thus far in 2024.

It’s also starting to trail behind Renault’s commercial van range, led by the Master (1121 units YTD) and Traffic (883 units YTD).
