Football Fans Are Not Impressed At the Lack of Realism In EA FC25

EA Sports FC25 is around the corner, and the hype machine is already in full swing among sports game enthusiasts. However, a recent promotional clip from Celtic Football Club’s official X handle has left many fans feeling underwhelmed.

The short 15-second video aimed to showcase the new “Starheads” of the club’s players, highlighting Electronic Arts’ technology for scanning real-life player faces and incorporating those details into the game. But rather than impressing fans, it appears to have fallen flat.

EA Sports FC25’s Celtic Starheads Fail to Shine

The clip in question, which shows four Celtic players walking onto the field, was meant to be a highlight reel for EA Sports FC25‘s more realistic player representation. However, the comment section tells a different story:

One fan decided not to “******” words:

While the faces do look closer to their real-life versions, the overall visual fidelity of the game leaves much to be desired. This isn’t the first time Electronic Arts has faced criticism for its graphics, and it seems that the next game may not also be the leap forward fans are hoping for.

The lack of realism extends beyond just the player faces, though. The movements and animations of the players also seem to be a point of contention. Fans are calling out the game for its lackluster visuals, which don’t appear to have improved significantly from the previous year’s iteration.

The Cycle of Recycled Games

But the issue extends beyond just graphics. The debate around the recycled nature of these annual sports games is heating up. Since Electronic Arts dropped the FIFA title and rebranded as Sports FC, fans have been skeptical about whether anything has really changed.

The same game, with minor tweaks and a new number in the title, is released every year, and many fans have undoubtedly started to feel like they’re being sold the same product over and over again.

This cycle of releasing essentially the same game annually has been a long-standing criticism of the company’s strategy. Despite the lack of significant upgrades, these games continue to be profitablelargely due to their strong brand recognition and the absence of a serious competitor in the market.

So, until a new challenger emerges to shake things up, it seems that Electronic Arts will continue with its current formula, much to the dismay of fans who crave more substantial improvements.

The endless cycle of these sports games has left many wondering if there’s any real innovation happening behind the scenes. With the upcoming title, it looks like more of the same, which is a disappointment for fans who were hoping for something new and exciting.

What do you think about the latest promotional clip? Are you impressed with the graphics, or do you feel like it’s just more of the same? Let us know in the comments below!
