In Anticipation for Metal Gear Solid Delta, These 5 Game Remakes and Remasters Are Better Than the Originals

There’s no doubt that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is one of the most anticipated games in the franchise. It’s a single-player third-person tactical and survival stealth action that serves as a remake of the 2004 PlayStation 2 title, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater! The remake plans to elevate the original experience and push boundaries.

The MGS3 Remake is a celebration of the gaming community’s shared love for classic titles. In recent years, that’s the primary reason why developers are opting for remakes; there’s a built-in audience right from the get-go! It makes sense to take something players already love and make it even better than before.

Sometimes, remakes end up becoming the definitive way to enjoy a certain game, and that’s not just because of upgraded visuals. Some remastered games have proven to be huge upgrades and brought improvements upon the originals, ironing out the first game’s initial issues.

Let’s take a look at some of the best remastered games that revived iconic titles for new audiences.

5. ***** Space Remake

Well, was a remake of ***** Space necessary? That’s debatable, but after launching in grand and gory style, EA Motive’s comeback to the ******* corridors of the USG Ishimura has proven to be a crucial gaming experience.

The remake jolts players with brilliant scare tactics and an incredibly lavish set design. It’s now a golden standard for what a trip back into the past for every classic game should be like! Quality of life changes and thoughtful tweaks make this reimagined more frightening than the original game.

4. Metroid: Zero Mission

Out of the complete Metroid series, the first two installments were in desperate remakes the most. While Samus Returns was an incredible remake of Metroid 2, nothing can ever top Metroid: Zero Mission. It has made the franchise’s classic game into the best one it offers.

The art style is top-notch, and bosses deliver in spades; you can choose to take multiple paths in getting all the necessary upgrades. That’s not all; the game adds even new story content, with Samus ‘backstory explored further, which makes it a perfect game to pick up if you’re new to the franchise. Sure, it’s a short game, but you won’t find yourself complaining.

3. Pokemon Let’s Go

Gamers can never get enough of battling and capturing pocket monsters! The series’ popularity has remained sky-high since its original debut in the 90s. Players can relive the original adventure on the Nintendo Switch with Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu/Evee. Only this time, everything is rendered in three dimensions!

Sure, the remake does make a few changes, such as getting rid of random mon’ battles in the wild. Players can now see Pokemon and choose to approach or ignore them. No battles will happen if a mon’ is approached.

These quality-of-life additions are well appreciated and give an experience that’s much better than the classic in today’s age.

2. Final Fantasy 7 Remake

When Final Fantasy 7 Remake was first announced way back in 2015, the entire gaming community went wild. The original game was undoubtedly one of the most legendary titles ever made, and the remake had the potential to bring back the cast to life with new-generation graphics.

Not only did the remake do that, but it also gave the title’s story a more cinematic feel and brought Midgar to life with a beautiful spectacle. The gameplay was modernized, too, with more focus on action RPG combat that the franchise has been known for in the modern era.

It’s genuinely breathtaking from a visual standpoint. Even the original soundtrack has been remade. Let’s hope the developers can conclude the remake trilogy with the ultimate final entry.

1. Resident Evil 4

Of course, we can’t talk about the most legendary remakes without mentioning the Resident Evil 4 Remake. The original game was truly a landmark installment in Capcom’s survival horror series, and we all fell in love with it back then.

However, the developers brought back this title with enhanced visuals and new gameplay mechanics while sticking to the main story.

The story is basically the same as the original title: you must save Ashley and ****** off against the Los Illuminados cult. However, this time, you don’t need to worry about Ashley’s health since it’s been removed, and her AI is enhanced, allowing you to focus better on dealing with your enemies.
