A top public high school in Perth’s south is proposing to dump house faction names commemorating ships that played key roles in WA’s early days as a British colony because of “changing socio-political climates”.

Applecross Senior High School is surveying parents, students and staff to test their enthusiasm for the name change as part of its “rebranding”.
