This Concord Developer Has Some Harsh Words For Haters of Firewalk’s Hero Shooter

Concord, a PS5 exclusive hero shooter, developed by Firewalk Studios had a controversial journey to its release date, to say the least. Now, with the full game available, one of former Firewalk Studios developers, Xander Farrel added ***** to the controversy as they took to

to express pride in the team’s efforts but also had a few things to say to critics of the game.

It is not a secret that the hero shooter struggled to gain traction in early access and full release as well, and with Farrell dismissing the game’s critics as ‘talentless freaks in a now-deleted tweet, it has only led to further backlash.

Concord Had a Long Development Journey and Xander Farrell Had a Huge Role in the Development

Concord is the debut game from Firewalk Studios, a company founded in 2018 and later acquired by Sony Interactive Entertainment in April 2023.

Initially developed in collaboration with its parent company, ProbablyMonsters, Concord was officially announced during the PlayStation Showcase in May 2023 with a CGI trailer.

Despite the hype behind the game that started with the official reveal, the beta release in July 2024  was met with underwhelming player numbers. The full game was released on August 2023, 2024 for PS5 and Windows and the numbers didn’t quite become much higher

Played from a first-person perspective, the game has a diverse roster of alien characters, each with unique abilities and perks.

Xander played a big part in bringing the first-person animations to life for several of the game’s heroes, including Daw, Duchess, and Kyps.

In a now-deleted post, Xander seemingly called critics talentless freaks, but the debate didn’t end there as more people chimed in with their opinion on the game and its disastrous launch.

Xander expressed how proud they were as the game finally saw its release day and continued on to say that this was his first triple-A game and learned a lot in the process.

However, his excitement wasn’t well welcomed as people started bashing on the game. One fan, in particular, said that this game only has around 600 players.

Furthermore, another game enthusiast said that Concord is ***** on arrival and that the studio will be dissolved sooner rather than later.

While this disastrous launch doesn’t do justice to the game, others are interested in the game and have supported Xander in his efforts to bring this game to life and defend it upon release. One player said that they enjoyed the beta and that they will be playing the game come the weekend.

Despite everything, it is a fact that Concord had an abysmal launch and that the future can only get better as developers deliver updates, new characters, new story bits, and everything else a game like this hero-shooter needs.

While it had a long development *******, the game is out and while Steam numbers don’t show a full picture, players are enjoying the game.

What are your thoughts on Concord? Is the game already ***** or it has a future? Let us know in the comments below.
