The game received plenty of criticism and flak from gamers for various reasons. A video game streamer, Madam Savvy, also played the game on one of her streams, and it suffices to say that she was disappointed at multiple levels. The fact that the Madam Savvy’s Opinion of Dustborn Has No One Surprised The line between political commentary and video games is starting to get blurred. Some video games use creative liberty and craft fictional stories to convey a profound message. But the message is subtle and the developers focus on the game’s quality. For example: Metal Gear Solid 2 had social and geopolitical commentary but that wasn’t everything that the game had, it was part of it and hence, it was appreciated. However, sometimes video games are used as mere tools for propagating a message. This makes their quality take a ********* and Dustborn per many (especially if one looks at the game’s Metacritic User Scores and Reviews) is one such game. A streamer going by Madam Savvy felt similarly and had this to say about the game’s quality: this was the most painful thing i have ever suffered through. But, i gave it a fair shot and 7 hours of my time. Real tax dollars funded this game and I feel like every person should be able to sue the government for it. Something that was pointed out by Madame Savvy and countless other people who played the game goes beyond the game’s reception. However, Madame Savvy pointed out the fact that the game is co-funded by the Creative Europe MEDIA program of the ********* Union. This can be verified from the game’s developer website. This was also pointed out by a user in the comments section of Madame Savvy’s This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up post: Wttttfffffffffffff — Ara (@Atlasranalready) This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up This was one of the reasons why the game was bashed by gamers and reviewers as once again, people are entitled to their opinions. However, this might be a warning sign for any game dev seeking funding from organizations that are subsidiaries of political unions. Literal government funded *********** — noyade (@noyade0x) This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up It seems like gamers can see through poor content and won’t appreciate a game if it isn’t good quality, regardless of anything else. It might be a good idea for game devs and publishers to listen to the video game community, to prevent disaster launches like this game. Do you have an opinion on all of this? Is Dustborn being treated too harshly or do you agree with people who are criticising it? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
