Anxiety Aunt: Help! I am an introvert and worried that I have chosen the wrong career in teaching

Dear Aunty,

I know you have written about Book Week in the past but I am asking this from the perspective of an ******, not a child. I am a relatively new teacher and I feel a lot of pressure to dress up and be an extrovert at these types of events but it’s just not me. I am at quite a small school, and the teachers even do a big dress-up on sports days and things like that. Everyone seems to enjoy it and gets into the spirit of it but I just find it very exhausting and emotionally taxing. I’m comfortable with who I am and I love my job and the children I teach, but I am happier quietly getting on with things rather than drawing too much attention to myself. What should I do? Do you think I’ve chosen the wrong career?
