Victorian residents opposes plans to build freight terminal near Little River

Thousands of residents are protesting against plans to build a multibillion-dollar freight terminal over concerns rare volcanic grasslands and native animals would be impacted or destroyed.

Pacific National freight company has lodged an application to build a freight terminal on a 550-hectare site with a capacity to handle two million shipping containers a year near the Western Basalt Plains Grasslands in Little River, about 44km southwest of Melbourne.
