How to Unlock Delving in World of Warcraft The War Within

This expansion introduces a new endgame pillar, Delves, in World of Warcraft: The War Within. It changes how players approach several systems, mainly character progression. Some players may choose to start delving early in the game. It can give you some experience boost, and it is something new to experience that isn’t present in any previous World of Warcraft expansion. It is also a great way to unlock more gear or Curios for your companions, which will be needed in the future. It is best to start delving right away, and here’s how to unlock it in World of Warcraft: The War Within.

Unlocking delves requires you to finish the initial campaign questline in Dalaran to bring you to Khaz Algar. You’ll meet up with Khadgar along with Brann and the others. You’ll save Dalaran and end up in the Isle of Dorn.

After finishing a few more campaign quests, you’ll eventually end up in the new Sanctuary or main town. Do everything you need to do, such as grabbing all the quests, getting professions, making the new town your home inn, and others. The quest to unlock Delves follows the Earthen Fissures quest chain. Here is the whole quest chain to unlock Delve:

1. Hypocenter
2. The Archive
3. Stones of Dornogal
4. State of the Union
5. The Fourth Seat
6. Delve into the Earth

Once you reach the Delve into the Earth missions, it will start your adventure with Brann and he’ll lead you to the first Delve, with him being your first companion. This unlocks your first delve adventure in the form of a main quest. Brann will teach you the ropes and you should expect some ******* mechanics on your future delves.

You can switch the roles of your companions by pressing I and opening the LFG menu. In this menu, you’ll see the dungeon finder, mythic+, and other tabs. Look for the Delve tab, and it’ll show your companion, such as Brann. Tap the configure button, and it’ll open up the companion’s role, equipped curios, and abilities. You can change the companion’s role and curios in this window.
