Tomb Raider has never been the same since Core Studios owned its development.
Despite significant economic successes, Crystal Dynamics has fumbled time and time again trying to find an identity with their trilogies but has ultimately ******* to stick with a their own concepts and ideas. Much to the frustration of the franchise’s old and even some new fans.

Their first set of TR games – the “Legend” era – were constantly chasing after the movies elements and aesthetics, adding those miserably boring and useless support characters and iterating upon a noticeably different and surprisingly generic Lara.

Survivor era TR is pushed further beyond the recognizable by de-emphasizing tombs, dungeons and platforming and blatantly copy/pasting parts of what was trendy or popular at the time. While having a Lara who is fully disassociated from her original and unique characteristics.

So what now? A new “unified” Lara Croft looms in the horizon, possibly teased in the horrendous CoD skin. A flatchested and manfaced DEI monstrosity that may as be the new concept concocted by a decades-long clueless and vision-less Crystal Dynamics.
