When the PlayStation 5 announcement was brought into question, Spencer said:

Last Spring, we launched four games; two of them on the Switch [and] four of them on PlayStation. We said we’re gonna learn. We said we’d watch. I think at [Xbox] Games Showcase I might have said ‘from our learning, we’re gonna do more.’  

To those unaware or who may have forgotten, the four games Spencer is referring to are Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves, Grounded, and Pentiment. PlayStation 5 versions were released for all four, while only Grounded and Pentiment also launched on Nintendo Switch.

Spencer closes his answer by discussing the overall health of the games industry. He talks about the fact that the industry is under a great deal of pressure and has been experiencing a lot of growth, but that a change is coming.

That’s gonna change. That’s gonna change for all of us. But the end result has to be better games that more people can play. If we’re not focused on that, I think we’re focused on the wrong thing.
