The issue is they know this

Classic PR moves that Hollywood usually does, especially with Star Wars

Find a group of trolls, make a big deal over them, group the ENTIRE fanbase in with them, those who are speaking nicely and fairly with criticism are made out to be just as bad, it then undermines their opinions and sweeps any bad criticism under the rug. You speak out and the fanboys who like it will cal you a troll, sexist, ******* etc to shut you down, they don’t even have to argue because making you out to be a bad person diverts the attention away from what your saying to you defending yourself from those remarks.

They did this for The Last Jedi, the Acolyte and others.

It’s a shame there’s trolls, it is but they exist all over, not just fanbases…it’s the internet.
