There were a number of first-person shooters released back in the 90s, and early 2000s for the PC, and home consoles of the time, but none of them ever managed to reach the creative heights of the TimeSplitters series.

The franchise was loaded with creative designs, and ideas, featuring cartoon visuals, multiplayer modes, and split-screen play that gamers loved, and hoped to see again on modern-day consoles. Fortunately, it looks like our hopes have been answered as the TimeSplitters trilogy has finally been added to PlayStation Plus this week.

TimeSplitters Trilogy is Now Available on PlayStation Plus

It’s been ages since we first heard murmurs that the iconic TimeSplitters game might be making its way to PlayStation’s subscription service, and the day has finally arrived.

If you’re unfamiliar with the TimeSplitters games, they are basically spiritual successors of sorts to Perfect Dark and GoldenEye 007. All the titles earned massive critical acclaim at the time of their respective releases.

FYI the TimeSplitters trilogy is now live in the PlayStation Plus Classics Catalogue (or the PS Store for £7.99 each) woooooo

The original game was a revolutionary title that completely changed the FPS genre. TimeSplitters 2 was considered to be an improvement over its predecessor, with many believing TimeSplitters Future Perfect to be the peak of the franchise.

Gamers across various social media channels are all aboard the hype train and believe Sony is finally making the right calls by adding such legendary trilogies to the PlayStation classic catalog.

Although none of the three games come with online multiplayer, they feature local multiplayer that has campaign co-op. Not to mention that they all look extra snazzy with high resolution and framerate!

Let’s hope returning fans will get tons of enjoyment from this iconic franchise, and new generations of gamers will finally realize what they were missing. Then maybe the developers might give the franchise another ****** of the whip in the modern era with the fourth game.

PS Plus is Loaded With New Exciting Games

If you’re signed up for PS Plus, the month of August is packed with a bunch of new titles! Sony’s latest update has added ten new games to the Extra Tier, while five additional games have been exclusively added to Premium. Of course, Premium subscribers get access to all the 15 games.

On August 20, PS Plus Extra saw the addition of Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi, Cult of the Lamb, Ride 5, Striker, Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris, Swords Art Online: Hollow Realization, Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet, Sword Art Online: Last Recollection, Watch Dogs 2, Witcher 3, and Wild Days.

PS Plus Premium, alongside the TimeSplitters trilogy, has also welcomed Vacation Simulator and Sword Art Online: Lost Song to its lineup of games.

For PS Plus Extra, Cult of the Lamb and The Witcher 3 stand out the most. Cult of the Lamb is a popular game that was released back in 2022 and earned rave reviews. The Witcher 3, meanwhile, is an open-world action RPG that’s often called one of the best video games ever.

With all these games for PlayStation Plus subscribers, there’s a lot to ***** into and experience! Even September 2024 is also looking to be rather exciting, as Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is one of the free PS Plus games, and The Plucky Squire is coming to PS Plus Extra.
