The Veilguard Fans are Only Now Realizing 1 Returning Character’s Actor Was the Living Embodiment of Her in Queen of the Damned

After years and years of waiting, the new Dragon Age game is finally at a stage where we’ve got a release date to mark on our calendars. The Veilguard will be arriving on 31 October 2024, as announced in the release date trailer that dropped earlier this week.

That’s not the only bombshell that dropped in the trailer, though. Everyone’s favorite witch made a shocking return, which surprised everyone seeing as how the voice actress herself confirmed she wouldn’t be in the game. That’s right, Morrigan is back!

The Witch of the Wilds Will Return in the New Dragon Age

Voiced by the talented Claudia ******, Morrigan’s surprise appearance in the trailer left fans shocked and ecstatic.

People normally wouldn’t be shocked seeing how she also appeared in Inquisition, but ****** mentioned in 2022 that she believed her character wouldn’t be part of the new game.

It was heartbreaking to hear, but over the past two years, fans accepted that the Witch’s journey might have ended. After her post, things must’ve happened behind the scenes that eventually led to her character’s return.

As everyone shares their excitement over her comeback, one eagle-eyed franchise fan noticed something intriguing about ******’s past work.

It turns out that ******’s portrayal of the shapeshifter has more in common with another of her roles than anyone had previously realized. A fan pointed out the visual similarity between her appearance in the 2002 movie Queen of the Damned and her iconic portrayal of her Dragon Age character.

The Similarities Are Too Significant to Ignore

In the 2002 movie, ****** played a vampire elder named Pandora. OP shared a screenshot from the movie, and Pandora’s elaborate jewelry—a giant necklace adorned with needle-like parts and a round jewel at the bottom—really sticks out.

It’s hard to deny the similarities when you place it side-by-side with the Witch’s necklace from Origins and Inquisition. The necklace’s ornate design, the round jewel, and even the dark and mystical aesthetic Pandora has is all too familiar.

The players in the replies to OP’s post saw the similarities too. It was just as easy for them to replace Pandora with the shapeshifting Witch.

One comment jokingly makes the comparison that Pandora could very well be the vampire version of Morrigan, and visually, there’s no denying it.

Personality-wise though, we’ll pass it on to people who watched the movie to confirm that detail. Judging from its negative reviews, though, there may not be many who can verify it.

Now that we know ****** is returning as her iconic character, this opens up the possibility for other surprising character appearances.

Is there any character from the previous Dragon Age games you’d want to see in the upcoming franchise entry? Let us know in the comments below!
