The Birth Suites at Viera Hospital include 14 rooms for labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum care. Patients will remain in the same room throughout their stay, providing a private space for families.

“This means that, from the moment they arrive until their discharge, families will stay in one comfortable, well-appointed Birth Suite, creating a seamless and supportive environment,” Viera Hospital Administrator Dustin Boring said. “Additionally, the unit is fully equipped with two dedicated operating rooms for cesarean sections and other procedures, as well as a nursery to provide specialized care for newborns, as needed. These amenities ensure that we can offer comprehensive and high-quality care in a single, convenient location.”

What medical personnel say

Stefanie Hoffman, a Health First Medical Group certified nurse midwife who is due to have a baby in October, said she is excited to have her baby at the Viera Hospital.

“This unit was really designed for people like me, who want to birth naturally,” Hoffman said. “The room is very big. We can do a lot of different positions and use a lot of different birth tools in this room. The shower is big, which is really nice for hydrotherapy options. Every patient and every family stays in the same room from start to finish. It’s very intimate, which is nice.”

Dr. Vanessa Dance, a Health First OB-GYN who has been delivering ******* at Cape Canaveral Hospital two decades, said the transition to Viera Hospital is an emotional moment, but an exciting time.

“It’s an honor to be part of such a dedicated team at Viera Hospital,” Dance said. “Over the years, The Birth Suites at Cape Canaveral have served our community with distinction, welcoming countless Brevard County ******* into the world. I’ve had the privilege of delivering ******* here in Brevard for over 20 years, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to be part of so many families’ special moments. As we transition to these new Birth Suites at Viera Hospital, I’m filled with excitement for this new chapter.”

In conjunction with labor and delivery services opening at Viera Hospital, Health First Medical Group will open its new Vidina Obstetrics and Gynecology office on Vidina Drive, immediately south of the Viera Hospital campus. This location is accepting new patients.

Viera Hospital, which opened in 2011, is the newest of Health First’s four hospitals. The others are Cape Canaveral Hospital, Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne and Palm Bay Hospital. Health First also provides includes health insurance plans, a multispecialty medical group, and outpatient and wellness services.
