, IRONMAN said its officials collected water samples while “in direct communication” with the Division of Water. Officials stated samples collected Friday had detected no harmful algal bloom.

The race was began with athletes swimming 1.2 miles from the Louisville Community Boathouse to Waterfront Park. A 56-mile bike ride along River Road and Oldham County followed before the half-marathon run along the river and through city parks, finishing downtown at Fourth Street Live.
