Optus Stadium chief executive Mike McKenna has revealed plans to “renovate” and not replace the surface of the Burswood venue amid ongoing concerns over the turf.

A downpour of rain and back-to-back fixtures in Perth over the weekend has thrown the surface back into the spotlight, with a large section of the northern wing of most concern.
