Man arrested, charged in connection to Highlands double ********* pleads not guilty

A man in custody in connection to the Aug. 11 ********* in Louisville’s Old Highlands neighborhood that left two ***** pleaded not guilty to charges Friday and is being held on a $500,000 bond.

arrested Richie Williams, 37, on Thursday, charging him with ******* and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon in connection to the ****** of 29-year-old Montay Wade.

Williams pled not guilty in his arraignment Friday in Jefferson District Court, according to records obtained by The Courier Journal, and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing at 9 a.m. on Aug. 26.

The arrest was made by LMPD’s ********* and Fugitive Units after two were shot at the 900 block of Baxter Avenue around 1:45 a.m. Sunday, LMPD spokesperson John Bradley said. One man, later identified as 20-year-old Michael Bachelor Jr., was pronounced ***** at the scene. Another man, later identified as Wade, was taken by first responders to University of Louisville Hospital, where he ***** from his injuries.

Williams ******** in custody at the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections and Bachelor Jr.’s case ******** under investigation separately.
