Activision Blizzard’s Call of Duty Cease and Desist Reportedly Due to Being Afraid It’d Hurt ****** Ops 6

Call of Duty: ****** Ops 6 had everyone excited, at least, until Activision Blizzard managed to hurt the sentiments of a decent chunk of the community with its latest move. The studio has shut down the highly anticipated H2M-Mod project, sparking outrage among fans.

The fan-led initiative set out to do what the studio had ******* to give fans in the first place, and sending a legal notice to modders who tried to right its wrong has only positioned them as martyrs while painting a target on its back.

****** Ops 6’s Success Supposedly Threatened by a Mod

The H2M-Mod is officially ***** after Activision sent the team members a cease-and-desist. Taking no chances, the team immediately shut down all operations, and the mod will be worked on no more.

Fans of the game were already **** about this, but things took a turn for the worse when someone on X/

close to the situation shed light on why the legal notice was sent.

Supposedly, the real reason for shutting down the H2M-Mod project was that Activision feared its success could potentially hurt ****** Ops 6 sales.

This has not gone down well with the community, as people who eagerly waited for the mod are now lashing out at the studio.

Some are choosing to refund their copy of Modern Warfare 2, seeing as how there’s no point in having one now.

The studio conveniently sent the legal notice right after the Steam ***** of its games ended. There was a lot of excitement for ****** Ops 6, especially for the Zombies mode. But this controversy has changed some fans’ minds about their purchase decisions.

The H2M-Mod project was an ambitious undertaking by a dedicated group of Call of Duty enthusiasts.

When Modern Warfare 2 Remastered came out, it was missing the multiplayer mode from the original game. To right this wrong, H2M-Mod came into existence.

The goal was to recreate the multiplayer mode from Modern Warfare 2 using remastered assets and updated graphics from the 2020 release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered.

It promised to bring back all the iconic maps, weapons, and gameplay mechanics from the single-player campaign while introducing fan-made HD assets of the multiplayer campaign to tie in the whole experience.

There were a lot of people following the project religiously, and Activision Blizzard slapping it with the legal hammer made people ******. When the alleged reason for the decision leaked, anger turned to confusion: is the studio threatened by a simple mod?

The project was a labor of love, and people are attempting to distribute it on the down-low to keep it alive. It might be a forgotten topic soon, but it’s nonetheless another strike from fans on Acitivision’s image.

Do you think the studio overreacted by sending the mod a legal notice, or were people crossing a line with the mod? We’d love to hear your thoughts about the issue in the comments below!
