Perth’s wild weather has had an early impact on a bumper weekend of WA sport, with Fremantle’s AFLW practice clash against Collingwood momentarily paused after lightning strikes near Fremantle Oval.

Players from both sides were ordered from the field before half-time as WA’s forecast weekend storms reached the port city.

The clubs hunkered down in the rooms for 30 minutes before play was able to resume, with steady rain greeting players in a scrappy affair.
