When LeAnn Rimes burst onto the public stage as a 13-year-old, it was hard to believe that her big, bluesy voice was coming from someone who had only just entered their teens. If you heard her song Blue in 1996 without seeing Rimes, you would assume it was sung by a much older woman.

So it is perhaps no wonder that Rimes, who is now 41, was drawn to being part of reality TV singing show The Voice, where contestants perform to the backs of the judges who have to assess them on their voice alone.
