The game's expansive crafting system allows players to create plenty of helpful in-game resources, ranging from Palworld's Pal Spheres to new weapons and tools. Now, the game is addressing a major bug revolving around farming its rarest items. View the full article
  2. The Super Mario Maker community has been collectively working towards beating an impossible level, and it seems that someone has managed to do it. Last year, following the closure of the 3DS and Wii U eShops, Nintendo announced that it would also be shutting down online services for both consoles. That day is soon upon us, as from tomorrow, April 8, it will be impossible to play any game online, including classics like Splatoon and Super Mario Maker. While the former has Splatoon 2 and 3 to fall back on, the Super Mario Maker community has been working to try and get every fan-made level completed before the servers shutdown. Team 0% has been working on this specifically, but there was one big problem, a level by the name of Trimming the Herbs. The level itself is technically only 17 seconds long, but it requires ridiculously tight reflexes. After around 280,000 attempts, it actually came to light that the level's creator hadn't even beaten it, a prerequisite to submit the level online. It turns out that the creator had used tool-assisted speedrun techniques, meaning it might very well have been impossible for an actual person to beat. That did mean that Team 0% had technically already beaten every level humanly possible, but of course some players were still determined to beat Trimming the Herbs anyway. 8. You're not alone in wanting a new Final Fantasy Tactics game, as it turns out Final Fantasy 16 producer Naoki "Yoshi-P" Yoshida wants one too. It's been a long while since a new Final Fantasy Tactics game was released. While the spin-off games are a fan favourite, only a handful of titles with the Tactics subtitle were ever released, though those that are fans of the games have a lot of love to give them. Interestingly enough, Yoshi-P recently shared in an interview with TheGamer that he would be interested in seeing a new one too. When asked about using Final Fantasy 16 as the base for a new Tactics game, Yoshida, Rising Tide DLC director Takeo Kujiraoka, and localisation director Michael-Christopher Koji Fox all apparently laughed and agreed that its scale might not be the best way to go about it. "What would we even call it?" Fox laughed, "Final Fantasy 16 Tactics? That’s a lot." Yoshida went on to say, "We have a lot of our staff who worked on previous games like Final Fantasy Tactics or Final Fantasy 12, so you're going to have a lot of that [Tactics] feel because a lot of the same people are on the team. We’re very happy for you to suggest this because we’re all fans, but if we were going to make this, we wouldn’t want to do the same story that turns out to be a different story." 12. The Fallout 4 mod project that promises to entirely rebuild the iconic Fallout 2, Project Arroyo, has shown exactly how its ground-up remake and reimagining both follows the original and enhances it in a new comparison video. With three decades between them, it's safe to say that Project Arroyo is going to differ from Fallout 2 on a fundamental level. That said, the team clearly wants to make sure the atmosphere of New California is exactly as you remember it. Read the rest of the story... 13. I love cats, but as much as they can be an endless source of comfort they're also creepy little guys sometimes. They bring you half-caught prey to train you in the art of the hunt, they're often seemingly indifferent to bizarre situations around them, and they might even eat you if left without other food sources after your untimely passing. Suffice to say, then, that I'm not sure if the presence of a cat in the new PT-style indie horror game The Stairway 7 is a good or bad thing - but it's certainly got me curious. 23. Xbox appears to be going all in on preservation, as it has set up an entire team to ensure the future of the platform. A few years back, Xbox put a big effort into making many of its older Xbox and Xbox 360 titles playable on the Xbox One and Series X/S, a move that was welcomed by many as it made it a whole lot easier to play many classics that would otherwise have needed you lug out your old consoles you aren't even sure you had all the cables for, still. Now, as reported by Windows Central, a recent email sent by Xbox president Sarah Bond to the company's staff has shared that an entire team focused on preservation has been set up. "We have formed a new team dedicated to game preservation, important to all of us at Xbox and the industry itself," wrote Bond. "We are building on our strong history of delivering backwards compatibility to our players, and we remain committed to bringing forward the amazing library of Xbox games for future generations of players to enjoy." According to sources that spoke with Windows Central, Microsoft is possibly going to share more on this point around its annual showcase this summer, which might also reveal Gears of War 6.
